Walltunnel and Tailscale do different jobs.
Tailscale connects a firm's devices to each other. Walltunnel checks what those devices connect to on the internet. Many firms would use both.
What Tailscale is for
Tailscale builds a private network between your own computers, phones and servers, so you can reach the office file server from home or a hotel. It's very good at that. Your ordinary web traffic doesn't pass through it unless you set up an exit node, and even then nothing inspects it.
What Walltunnel is for
Walltunnel sends every connection to the internet through Cloudflare's network first, where it is checked by name, by connection and by content. Phishing and malware sites never load, downloads are scanned, and staff can't switch it off.
| Tailscale | Walltunnel | |
|---|---|---|
| Reach office machines from anywhere | Yes | Later |
| Block phishing and malware sites | With an add-on, by name | Yes, by name and content |
| Scan downloads | No | Yes |
| Encrypt café and hotel Wi‑Fi | With an exit node | Yes |
| Locked on for staff | No | Yes |
| Post-quantum key agreement | Not by default | Yes, no fallback |
Using both
On a Mac, Tailscale and Walltunnel can run together with care. On an iPhone they can't: iOS allows one VPN at a time. If reaching office machines is the main need, Tailscale is the better tool today. If the main risk is a phishing click, Walltunnel is.
